Trevor Ariza Throws A Right Haymaker At DeMar DeRozen
This weekend there were plenty of big fights to speak off in the boxing ring and the UFC’s octagon, but surprisingly the most vicious right cross was delivered on the basketball court at the Air Canada Center in Toronto.
With the Houston Rockets in town for a Sunday afternoon game, the Raptors were anything but gracious hosts, dealing them a 101-88 beating. However, Rockets guard Trevor Ariza was not about to go down without a fight, literally.
With just under three minutes remaining in the third quarter and the Rockets down by 19, Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozen stole the ball from Ariza’s hands and began to take it up the court. That was when a frustrated Ariza, who had managed to score only one point on 0-for-9 shooting, attempted a right cross/elbow to the head of DeRozen, which thankfully just missed the Raptors 2009 first-round pick. A few Toronto players confronted Ariza before he was ejected from the game.
Sunday was not Ariza’s day in Toronto as DeRozen did anything and everything he could to slow down the former Los Angeles Laker (besides throwing his show into the stands), and it seemed to have worked as Trevor had difficulty connecting on both his shots, and his punches.
