The Stat Line of the Night – 1/6/10 – Sherron Collins

Sherron CollinsKansas was on the brink of the unthinkable — losing at home to Cornell, an unranked team. Sherron Collins wasn’t about to let that happen.

KU was flat against Cornell and it looked as if fans would be treated to one of college basketball’s biggest upsets. Cornell led at the half and led by 8 deep into the second half. But Collins would not let the Jayhawks lose, even if the rest of the team was sleepwalking.

Collins had 33 points on 9-16 shooting. He hit 2-5 on three-pointers and made 13-14 free throws. Collins was ice in the second half at the line, hitting 12-13. The rest of the Jayhawks barely showed up, hitting just 9-33 from the floor. Collins played 35 minutes and also added 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Because of Collins’ incredible game, the Jayhawks remain undefeated at 14-0 and extend their amazing winning streak at home to 51 games. Sherron Collins has The Stat Line of the Night for 1/6/10.
