The Stat Line of the Night – 1/14/10 – LeBron James
The big story of the night was how Sundiata Gaines – a D-League callup on a 10-day contract – nailed a buzzer-beating three-pointer to win the game for the Jazz in Utah. But LeBron James dominated the game in one of the NBA’s most difficult places to play.
The King started out a bit slowly scoring just 8 points in the first half. Needless to say James went off in the second half and kept his team in the game until Gaines hit the insane game-winner. He scored 28 second-half points, including 18 points during a 20-2 run that put the Cavs up by six with just 32.5 seconds left on the clock.
James ended up with a game-high 36 points on 12-20 shooting, including 4-6 from three-point land. He also added 9 boards, 6 assists and 5 steals. And though the Cavs lost to the Jazz, they still sit atop the Eastern Conference with a 30-11 record. Just another day at the office for the league’s reigning MVP, and he has The Statline of the Night for 1/14/10.
