Mother And Daughter Nailed By Out-Of-Control Rally Car
We have asked this question before; why is it that people are allowed to stand so close to the track during rally car races, with so little protection guarding them from the possibility of being hit?
And once again, such questions resurfaced after a scary incident during a race in Spain, where a mother and her young daughter were hit by a car as it lost control going around a turn. As the car veers sideways, it slides into the onlooking spectators who attempt to run for cover. Unfortunately, several people were not quick enough to dodge the oncoming vehivle, causing some to fall while the mother and daughter were tossed head-over-heels into the air.
Thankfully no one was seriously injured, but how many more incidents like this one will it take until the necessary precautions are finally taken to assure spectator safety in rally car racing?
