The Stat Line of the Night – 2/23/10 – Andrew Bogut

Andrew BogutThe New York Knicks were looking to build on their win with their newly-acquired T-Mac last night.  Unfortunately the ran into a buzzsaw named Andrew Bogut.  The Bucks were able to destroy the Knicks in pretty much every aspect of the game, highlighted by a thrashing on the glass at both ends of the court.

Andrew Bogut was the key ingredient in the win, however.  After going through some roster changes last week, the new-look Bucks showed a lot of life, completely shutting down the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.  Bogut played 36 minutes and completely scorched New York in every way.  He shot 12/15 from the field, barely missing on his way to 24 points.  He also added 20 rebounds with 6 being offensive.  Throw in 5 blocks for good measure and you’ve got yourself the “Stat Line of the Night”.  He didn’t do it alone, however, getting help from his new teammate John Salmons who added 15 points in the winning effort.  Bogut is a great player, but if he can put up some more 20-20 games, he may go to another level.

The Bucks are not exactly the cream of the crop in the East, but they have as good a shot as any to make the playoffs in the weaker conference.  Only time will tell if Bogut lives up to his high expectations, but its nights like these that make Bucks fans excited to have him.
