The Stat Line of the Night – 3/10/10 – Tyreke Evans
The Sacramento Kings may be one of the worst teams in the NBA, but they have one of the league’s young rising stars in Rookie of the Year candidate Tyreke Evans. Last night the Kings welcomed a decent Toronto Raptors team into the ARCO Arena, and Evans proceeded to take over the game and lead the Kings to a 113-90 win.
Evans picked a perfect night to showcase his many skills. The 20-year-old point guard was the focus of a campaign to create awareness for his Rookie of the Year candidacy called “Rally For Reke”. He didn’t disappoint. He recorded his first ever triple-double by netting 19 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and handing out 10 assists.
The 6’6″ Evans will have to beat out Stephen Curry to win the Rookie of the Year trophy, but he is averaging over 20 points per game and tallying over 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Tyreke Evans and his triple-double have The Stat Line of the Night for 3/10/10.
