The Stat Line of the Night – 3/24/10 – Rajon Rondo
The Boston Celtics were back home on Wednesday night, taking on the very tough Denver Nuggets. The Celts needed a win as they jockey for the best seed they can get before the playoffs begin.
After building a comfy 10-point lead at the half, the Celts built a 20-point third quarter advantage. But they let the Nuggets back in the game, something they’ve done most of the season. Kevin Garnett was cold and Ray Allen wasn’t hitting his threes. Thankfully they had a hot Paul Pierce and their do-it-all point guard Rajon Rondo.
Pierce tallied 27 points on 10-16 shooting, but Rondo was the story of the game. Rondo scored 11, rebounded 11 and handed out 15 assists for a triple-double. The Celts tightened up the defense in the 4th quarter and they went on to win 113-99. He took over at the beginning of the 4th with two helpers, a steal and a layup. The Celts built their lead to back up over 10 and that was all she wrote. On top of the triple-double, Rondo also played serious defense and added 4 steals. Rajon Rondo has The Stat Line of the Night for 3/24/10.
