The Stat Line of the Night – 4/15/10 – Robinson Cano

robinson canoHo hum. Who do you think will be in the World Series this year? Maybe the New York Yankees? Odds are they will at least make it there if not win it again, so you have to try to enjoy their team if you can because you’re going to see a lot of them and it’s a loooooong season.

One of the lesser known Yankees — if there even is such a thing — is Robinson Cano. I say that because he doesn’t make a bazillion dollars and with ARod, Jeter, Texeira and Rivera, he goes a bit unnoticed nationally. But Cano has made an all-star team and he is an outstanding hitter. He showed that last night as the Yanks battled the Angels.

Cano hit 2 homers in the game of Angels’ starter Scott Kazmir and drove in 3 runs to lead the Yanks to a 6-2 win. Cano is lighting up the New York offense. He already has 4 homers and aftergoing 2-4 last night he raised his average to .395. It looks as if Cano may be on his way to his second all-star game, and he has The Stat Line of the Night for 4/15/10.
