Inter Milan Celebrate UCL Victory In Strange Fashion (Pics+Vid)
It was a hard fought game for the reigning Italian League champions, which saw them lose to F.C. Barcelona by a score of 1-0, but defeat them in their UEFA Champions League semi-final match-up by a score of 3-2 on aggregate. After losing Thiago Motta to a second yellow card in the first half, Inter’s solid defense kept the dangerous Barca attack at bay. Things got interesting near the end after Gerard Piqué made it 1-0 in the 84th minute, but that was all the scoring that the Spanish side would produce on this day, and when the final whistle blew, it was time for José Mourinho and his side to celebrate.
And for all the action that took place during the 90 minutes of play, the following 20 minutes or so would be equally entertaining.
It all started when Mourinho began running across the field with his finger pointed emphatically in the air. Apparently this did not sit well with Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, who seemingly couldn’t decide whether to congratulate the Inter coach, or fight him.
Then, with the Inter players still on the pitch taking in the glory of this prestigious win, the field sprinklers were conveniently turned on inside the Camp Nou. If the Spanish groundskeepers though a little water would dampen Inter’s fun (no pun intended), they were wrong.
