The Stat Line of the Night – 5/13/10 – Rajon Rondo
Last night the NBA playoffs said goodbye to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Which in turn means that come July LeBron will likely be saying goodbye to Cleveland. The Celtics only care about the former. They chewed up and spit out the Cavs winning the series 4 games to 2. In game 6, Rajon Rondo was the man.
Rondo dominated the Cavs all series long and game 6 was no exception. He played a team-high 44 minutes and scored 21 points on 9-15 from the floor. Rondo also dished out a game-high 12 assists, added 3 boards and stole the ball 5 times. His playoff averages are amazing: 18.0/6.3/11.1 and 2.1 steals per game.
When the subject of NBA point guards comes up, people always talk about Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Chris Paul and Derrick Rose. Rondo is a bit of an afterthought because he plays with some big personalities and future Hall of Famers in Garnett, Pierce and Ray Allen. But he should definitely be mentioned when people talk about the best point guards in the league. Rajon Rondo has The Stat Line of the Night for 5/13/10.
