The Stat Line of the Night – 5/26/10 – Dwight Howard
Superman isn’t quite ready to spend his summer as Clark Kent. Down 3 games to none in their series against the Boston Celtics, the Orlando Magic were left for dead by most fans and observers. Dwight Howard has a little message for them: not so quick.
Howard led the Magic to a 113-92 win in Orlando, bringing the series to 3-2. The Magic are now the first team to win four straight elimination games against the Celtics. The series now moves back to Boston for Game 6 on Friday night, but the pressure is seemingly on the Celtics. They will likely be without Kendrick Perkins after he picked up his seventh technical foul of the playoffs, which merits a mandatory one-game suspension.
Howard did work as usual, contributing in all facets of the game. He scored 21 points on 7-12 shooting and got to the free throw line 12 times. Howard led the defensive effort and pulled down 10 boards, blocked 5 shots and added 2 steals. He’s also the first player to have five games with five-plus blocks in a single postseason since Tim Duncan did it in 2007. Dwight Howard has The Stat Line of the Night for 5/26/10.
