Angels Learn Their Lesson After Kendry Morales Breaks Leg During Walk-Off Celebration
On Saturday, Kendry Morales went from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. After hitting the game winning walk-off grand slam to give his Angels the 5-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners, Morales suffered a broken leg after his teammates mobbed him as he reached home plate. He was scheduled to undergo surgery yesterday and will likely miss the remainder of the season.
Angels skipper Mike Scioscia had a talk with his team following the incident, instructing his players to refrain from mobs and pile-ons following walk-off hits.
Luckily he did as the following day, it was Howie Kendrick hitting a walk-off homer for the Angels in a 9-7 victory. Needless to say, their celebration was a lot more reserved, and as a result, no trips to the hospital were needed this time around.
