The Stat Line of the Night – 6/28/10 – Michael Bourn

michael bournIt’s been a lousy year for the Houston Astros and their fans.  The ‘Stros are only above the lowly Pirates in the NL Central, one of baseball’s weakest divisions.  But last night their fans were treated to some exciting baseball, and a come from behind win.

They were down 4-0 after 2 and 5-2 after 3 innings.  But they kept fighting back, with speedster Michael Bourn leading the way for the Astros.  Bourn was 4-6 on the night with his first homerun of the season.  He also scored twice, drove in 2 runs and stole his 23rd base of the year.  He is the stolen base leader in the National League.

The Astros scored 7 times during the 6th, 7th and 8th innings to surpass the Brewers in Milwaukee and win the game 9-5.  The win broke a 2-game skid that Houston had against the rival Rangers.  The Astros have dug themselves quite a hole in the NL Central, but their leadoff man might be catching fire.  Michael Bourn has The Stat Line of the Night for 6/28/10.
