Italian And French Football Clubs Brawl During Not-So-Friendly Friendly
The Italians and the French have never seemed to enjoy each others’ company on the soccer pitch, and that was evident once again when Sardinia’s Cagliari took on Corsica’s Bastia in what was supposed to be a friendly match on Wednesday. Instead, it turned out to be anything but friendly as the teams from the two neighboring islands repeatedly exchanged blows until the game had to be called in the 75th minute after a brawl broke out.
Cagliari would go on to win the game by a score of 3-0. As for who won the war, that question remains up for debate.
