The Stat Line of the Night – 9/8/10 – Ryan Howard

ryan howardThe Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves are neck and neck in the race to capture the National League East. The Phils hosted the Marlins last night needing a win to maintain their slim lead atop the division. Ryan Howard broke out his whoopin’ stick in a big way.

The big man go the Phils on the board first in the first inning when he singled home Shane Victorino and Chase Utley to give the Phils a 2-0 lead. In the 4th he jacked his 28th homerun of the season, a three-run shot that made it 7-0. He finished off the scoring for the Phils in the 7th when he got his third hit of the game, driving home Victorino again.

In total Howard was 3-5 with the homer, a run scored and 6 RBIs. The Phils won 10-6 and held their half-game lead over the Braves in the East. Ryan Howard has The Stat Line of the Night for 9/8/10.
