“Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out” Is Coming To An iPhone Near You
For those who miss their early 90s childhood, they can thank EA Sports for bringing back NBA Jam, the classic basketball video game that took up many hours of our time. As for those who miss their late 80s childhood, now they have someone to thank as well: Rock Software.
The company that specializes in mobile games and applications has announced its intentions to release an new version of the game “Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out” for iPads and iPhones next month. Players will have the opportunity to take “Little Sammy” through ten computer opponents before facing off against Mike Tyson for the heavyweight championship belt. The ten guys leading up to Tyson were created to resemble friends and acquaintances of Rock Software CEO John Shahidi.
The game, which can be found at the iPhone app store next month, will be on sale for $0.99, which seems to be a very reasonable price considering the fact that the original game used to sell for upwards of $60 when it was originally released. However, for those looking to spend a little extra money, they can do so by purchasing other stars and athletes that can be used in the game.
However, if one of those characters happens to be Zach Galifianakis, you may want to refrain from making such a purchase. After all, if the past is any indication, we can already tell you that he doesn’t stand a chance against the vicious right of Iron Mike.
