The Stat Line of the Night – 10/27/10 – Monta Ellis
The NBA is in full-effect and some teams are all ready in mid-season form. Like All-Star game form. In their game last night, the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets played defense like it was the NBA All-Star game, and the result was a high-scoring affair.
The Warriors’ Monta Ellis was the highest scorer of all, and he led his team to a win in their first game of the year. Ellis went off for 46 points on the Rockets, and the Warriors needed every one of those points in their 132-128 victory.
Ellis drained 18 of his 24 shot attempts, including 1 of 2 from behind the three-point line. He also nailed 9 of his 12 free throw tries. The 46 points tied a career-high for Ellis, and that total is the third-highest Opening Night point total in Warriors franchise history, trailing only one Mr. Wilt Chamberlain, who poured in 56 against Detroit in 1962 and 48 against the Lakers in 1961.
Monta Ellis is already on fire, and he has The Stat Line of the Night for 10/27/10.
