Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night — A One-Punch KO From The WHL — 11/2/10

If the pros aren’t going to entertain us with some fisticuffs, the juniors certainly will.  Yesterday was just another one of those days.  Four NHL games. Zero fights.  However, the Western Hockey League players weren’t giving their fists the night off.  A game between the Prince George Cougars and the Kelowna Rockets featured two fight of its own, including this one between the Cougars’ Joshua Smith and the Rockets’ Jessey Astles.

The 16-year-old Smith had his work cut out for him against his tougher 17-year-old opponent, and although he did get off to a fast start, it was not long before an Astles right sent him to the ice.  Here it is, your “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Tuesday, October 2, 2010.
