Brett Clark’s Net-Ripping Shot Highlights 15-Goal Game Between The Lightning And Flyers (Video)

Just how many goals were being scored in last night’s game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Philadelphia Flyers you ask?  So many that the net, much like the goalies, simply got tired of stopping the puck following this blast from the stick of the Lightning’s Brett Clark.

With eight pucks already finding the back of the net in a wild first period, Brett Clark was looking to make his slap shot the ninth.  However, rather than simply find the back of the net, Clark’s shot went right through it.  That capped off a nine-goal first period, making it the highest scoring first period since the Montreal Canadiens and the Quebec Nordiques combined to score nine back on December 17, 1991.

The nets at both end would be given somewhat of a break over the course of the next 40 minutes of the game, as only six more goals would beat either keeper.  Here is a look at the highlights from this goal-filled affair.
