amare stoudemireDon’t look now, but one of the hottest teams in the NBA is the New York Knicks. The likely playoff-bound New York Knicks. How long has it been since you heard those two terms being used to describe them? This year is different. In the off-season they acquired the beast known as Amare Stoudemire.

Last night Stoudemire and the Knicks hosted the Toronto Raptors at Madison Square Garden. Stoudemire went off in a big way, scoring 34 points on 15-27 shooting, including a perfect 4-4 from the foul stripe. He recorded a game-high 14 rebounds, blocked two shots and dished out two assists.

Most impressive is that Stoudemire did much of his work when the game was on the line. He scored 18 of his 34 points in the 4th quarter. How dominant has he been lately? Stoudemire has scored 30 or more points in six straight games and has had three consecutive games with double figures in the fourth quarter. That’s ballin’.

The Knicks have won six straight and 10 of their last 12. They have the best road record in the Eastern Conference. It’s safe to say that Amare Stoudemire was one of the best acquisitions of the off-season, and he has “The Stat Line of the Night” for 12/8/10.
