The Stat Line Of The Night – 12/14/10 – Carmelo Anthony

After going on a seven-game winning streak, the Denver Nuggets found themselves stuck in a two-game losing streak heading into last night’s game against the Orlando Magic. Looking to avoid making it three losses in a row, Carmelo Anthony knew his team needed a big game out of him, and he delivered.

Despite recent trade rumors surrounding his name, Anthony remained focused on the task at hand, dropping 35 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists on the Magic on route to a 111-94 Nuggets victory.  Scoring over 30 points is nothing new for Melo, but with the Nuggets’ front court depleted, he has been asked to take on a larger share of the rebounding and he has done just that, recording over ten in his last two games and averaging 8.3 on the season.

In the tough Western Conference, winning streaks will make you while losing streaks can easily break you.  With the win Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets will look to put together another extended winning-streak, but for now he earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, December 14, 2010.
