Dan Connolly Is The Fastest Offensive Lineman Ever! (Video)
Trailing the Green Bay Packers by a score of 17-7 with time winding down in the first half, the New England Patriots were looking for something to spark their team and they found it in the form of a 315-pound lightning bolt by the name of Dan Connolly.
Looking to prevent the Pats from getting good field position with only two minutes remaining in the half, the Packers squib kicked the ball to Patriots’ offensive lineman Dan Connolly, who used a couple of key blocks, a well-timed stiff arm and a cut-back move to rumble down to the Packers’ 5-yard line for the 71-yard kickoff return.
According to Al Michaels, Connolly’s previous career highlight was hearing the officials call out “Holding, number sixty-three, offense.” Now he has the longest ever kickoff return by an offensive lineman in NFL history to add to that list.
