The Stat Line Of The Night – 12/26/10 – Aaron Rodgers

Most fantasy football owners who had put their trust in Aaron Rodgers throughout the entire season were dealt a serious blow to their championship hopes after the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback sustained a concussion during a week 14 game against the Detroit Lions.  He failed to do much in that game prior to sustaining the injury and sat out last weekend’s contest against the Patriots, but anyone who was able to somehow survive over that period of time were rewarded with an incredible week 16 performance from Rodgers.

If you were one of those owners who survived the last two weeks despite the lack of help from A-Rod, hopefully you had enough faith in him to insert him back into your starting line-up for this weekend’s championship game.  If you did, you were rewarded to the tune of 404 passing yards and four touchdowns.  Rodgers also added 26 rushing yards as his 42 fantasy points (in standard scoring leagues) was likely enough to earn several fantasy teams a victory, and it was also enough to give his Packers the 45-17 win over the New York Giants.

When healthy, Aaron Rodgers remains one of the top fantasy quarterback in the NFL, along with the likes of Michael Vick, Drew Brees and Tom Brady.  Yesterday’s performance not only reminded us of that, but it also earned him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, December 26, 2010.
