Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night — Three From The Ducks vs. Blues — 1/12/11

The last time these two teams met, they combined for a total of 37 penalties and 143 penalty minutes.  It should therefore come as little surprise to hear that last night’s meeting between the Anaheim Ducks and the St. Louis Blues had 78 minutes in penalties and four fights.

That was great news for fight fans, who got to see three exciting bouts between some of the league’s toughest players.  A long tilt between the Blues’ Barret Jackman and the Ducks’ George Parros got things started midway through the third period, and that bout was followed up by a fight between Eric Brewer and Luca Sbisa, and another between Vladimir Sobotka and Matt Beleskey.  There was also a fight between the Blues’ B.J. Crombeen and the Ducks’ Maxim Lapierre somewhere in there, but we can’t be handing out “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” awards to everybody.

Here is a look at three entertaining bouts from last night’s game in Anaheim.
