The Stat Line Of The Night — 1/19/11 — Marian Gaborik

Throughout his career Marian Gaborik has had a tough time staying out of the trainer’s room, but when healthy there is little doubt that he is among the most highly skilled players in the NHL.  He proved that last night during a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Leafs were no challenge for the Rangers all night, as they were out-shot by a 28-22 margin and outscored 7-0.  Most of the damage came off the stick of Gaborik, who recorded two goals and an assist on the game’s first three goals, and ended the night with a whopping four goals and one assist.

The five point night gives Gaborik a total of 29 points in 34 games.  It has been another injury-riddled season for the Rangers’ winger, but he appears to be healthy now and his team will need him to stay that way if they wish to hold onto their spot in the playoffs.  For now, Gaborik earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, January 19, 2011.
