It Sounds Like The Microphones Were A Little Too Close To The Ice During This Islanders Game (Videos)

It is no secret that the game of hockey is littered with on-ice and locker room expletives between players, coaches and referees.  And if it was a secret, that secret was certainly revealed during HBO’s 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic series, thanks in large part to Capitals’ head coach Bruce Boudreau.

Although the NHL may embrace the manner in which its players and coaches release their anger in the heat of the moment, they may want to refrain from having their live audiences take part in some of these R-Rated moments.  One way to prevent such from happening is to get those microphones a little further away from the ice at Nassau Coliseum.  After all, any young child who was watching the New York Islanders take on the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday night likely added a few new phrases to their vocabulary, thanks to Rick DiPietro and P.A. Parenteau.

We’ll let you watch the videos below to figure out what those phrases are, but if you are having trouble figuring out what Parenteau asks the referee after taking a penalty, we wrote it out below in the most PG-rated manner possible.

If you have children in the room, now would be a good time for them to put on their earmuffs.

PA Parenteau to Referee: “Are you fist [email protected]&king me?”
