An Air-Ball Dunk? Yeah, It Happened During The Big East Final (Video)
Saturday afternoon two of the nation’s top teams squared off for the chance to earn the title as the best team in what may very well be the NCAA’s best conference. Yes, it was the much anticipated Big East final between Louisville and Connecticut, and while there was plenty of excitement and anxious moments throughout the course of the game, there was also a rather amusing air-ball dunk attempt by Louisville’s Preston Knowles.
Louisville sure could have used those two points, as well as what should have been an ensuing free-throw for the missed foul, as they would go on to lose the game by a score of 69-66.
I still can’t figure out how the refs missed that call. Did they really think Knowles simply aired-out that dunk on his own? Maybe in the Big Sky or Big South Conferences, but not in the Big East.
