The Stat Line Of The Night — 3/21/11 — Dwight Howard

With the NBA playoffs less than a month away, now is the time to get hot and put a winning streak together.  The Orlando Magic had the perfect opportunity to do just that, as they entered last night’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers having won their last two games.  They would make it three in a row thanks to a dominating performance from Dwight Howard.

The Cavaliers had no answer for the Magic’s big man in the middle, as he dominated in the paint to the tune of 28 points and 18 rebounds.  He also added four assists, four steals and four blocks in what was a solid all-around performance for the all-star center during the Magic’s 97-86 victory.

Not only does the win up the Magic’s streak to three games, but it also moves them 4.5 games clear of the Atlanta Hawks in their battle for fourth place and home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.  The luxury of at least one series with home-court advantage could be a big factor in their post-season run, and the play of Howard will be equally important.  For now, he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, March 21, 2011.
