The Stat Line Of The Night — 4/11/11 — LeBron James

With the playoffs right around the corner, now is the perfect time for players and teams alike to pick up their game and get themselves in a groove for the coming of the second season.  LeBron James and the Miami Heat appear to be doing just that, as was evident during their game last night against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Heat had won 10 of their past 12 heading into the game and had leap-frogged the Boston Celtics for second place in the Eastern Conference.  They secured that spot in the standing thanks in large part to LeBron’s 34 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.  The Heat would receive a scare from the Hawks bench late in the game, but they would eventually hold on for the 98-90 win.

With the win, the Heat locked up a first round playoff match-up with the Philadelphia 76ers.  They dominated Philly during the regular season, winning all three games between the two teams, but that doesn’t mean anything this time around.  If they would like to have similar success against the 76ers, they are going to need more performances like the one they received last night from LeBron James.  For now he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, April 11, 2011.
