The Stat Line Of The Night — 4/12/11 — Dan Haren

The Cleveland Indians have seemed almost unstoppable thus far through the opening two weeks of the MLB season, but they simply couldn’t find an answer to the Angels’ Dan Haren last night.  Haren entered the game with an impressive 1.23 ERA.  We would leave with a remarkable 0.73 ERA, thanks to a complete game on-hit shutout.  Haren fanned eight batters and walked two, en route to the 2-0 victory.

Since being acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks, Haren has done nothing but impress while wearing an Angels uniform.  He ended last season with the club and posted a 5-4 record with a 2.87 ERA in 14 starts, and this year he appears to be poised to improve upon those numbers in a big way.  Last night’s performance certainly helped his cause, and it also earned him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
