The Stat Line Of The Night — 4/17/11 — Kevin Durant

The San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers had already watched home-court advantage slip away with Game One losses earlier in the day.  The Oklahoma City Thunder did not want to become the third Western Conference team to lose their opening game of the first round on their home court.  Kevin Durant would make sure that didn’t happen.

Despite trailing the Denver Nuggets by 11 points after the first quarter, the Thunder clawed their way back and held the lead heading into the fourth.  They would hold on from there to take the 107-103 victory, thanks in large part to Durant’s 11 fourth quarter points.  He would finish the game with 41 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists.

The series is still young, but a win was just the start that the Thunder needed.  The franchise is still looking for their first series victory since moving to Oklahoma City, and while they have a great opportunity here against the Nuggets, it certainly wont be easy.  Game One proved just that, although, they did get the job done on this occasion, and Durant was a big part of that.  As a result, he earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, April 17, 2011.
