Bruins’ Adam McQuaid Misses Check, Falls Face First Into Boards (Video)
Late in the first period of Game 2 last night between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers, the Bruins’ Adam McQuaid attempted to plant an elbow into the head of Flyers’ forward Mike Richards. He would miss on his attempted elbow and justice would be served only milliseconds later, as an off-balanced McQuaid would torpedo face first into the end boards.
McQuaid would remain on the ice for a few minutes before being helped off by his teammates. He would not return to the game, which was eventually won by the Bruins in overtime, 3-2.
Had McQuaid landed the vicious elbow to the head of Richards, he undoubtedly would have received a suspension and it likely would have been Richards on the ground suffering from a serious head injury. With that being said, I guess we can assume that this all worked out for the best.
