A.J. Pierzynski Saved George Bush From A Foul Ball Last Night (Video)
With the Secret Service nowhere to be found during the bottom of the 6th inning of last night’s game between the Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers, Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski was called into action in order to save former President George W. Bush from a fly ball.
Bush was seated in the owner’s box, which is located in the first row behind home plate, when a foul ball off the bat of Adrian Beltre was headed directly at him. Pierzynski rushed to the scene in an attempt to record an out and save the former President in the process. Bush did manage to avoid being hit by the ball, but Pierzynski couldn’t come up with the souvenir for the 43rd President of the United States.
The two exchanged words immediately after, with Bush likely asking Pierzynski if he would be interested in taking a security job in the off-season. Here is a look at how it all unfolded last night in Arlington.
