Megan Rapinoe Sings “Born In The USA” During Patriotic Goal Celebration (Video)

The U.S. Women’s soccer team may be in Germany searching for their first World Cup title since 1999, but that didn’t stop them from taking a moment to celebrate their nation’s 235th birthday.  And despite the fact that the Fourth of July fell on Monday, the American ladies got the party started a few days earlier during their round robin match against Colombia on Saturday.

After lining up to salute the troops following Heather O’Reilly brilliant goal in the 12th minute, the U.S. women watched as Megan Rapinoe grabbed the pitchside microphone and belted off a quick verse of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” following her second goal in the 50th minute.  I’m not quite sure what speakers that microphone was attached to, but ESPN was somehow able to pick up the feed.

Here it is.

And for those still wondering, the U.S. went on to win by a score of 3-0.  U-S-A!  U-S-A!  U-S-A!
