The Stat Line Of The Night — 7/19/11 — Yuniesky Betancourt

With the Pittsburgh Pirates in the midst of a surprising run that has taken them to the top of the NL Central standings, the Milwaukee Brewers entered last night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in need of a win if they wanted to keep pace with the current division leaders.  They would get that win, thanks in large part to the bat of Yuniesky Betancourt.

The Brewers shortstop entered the game with terrible offensive numbers, posting an abysmal .239 average to go along with his five home runs and 30 RBIs.  He would improve his numbers in each of those categories, going 3-for-5 at the plate with two home runs and four RBIs.  It was good enough to lead his team to the 11-3 victory, and earn himself “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
