I know what you’re going to think when you see this video, so I’ll just cut to the chase: no, this is not footage from some local slow-pitch softball league. This is video from a game between the Jacksonville Suns and Carolina Mudcats of the AA Southern League. The funny thing is, this happened way back on July 29, but it’s only now going viral after getting picked up by SI’s Hot Clicks.
Poor Graham Taylor. After a couple weeks, the guy probably thought he was in the clear.
The Suns’ rather hefty starting pitcher was on first base when teammate Kevin Mattison scorched a triple to center field. Mustering all his strength, Taylor manages to score all the way from first base. Of course, he does so with the absolute worst head-first dive in the history of professional baseball.

Taylor left the game with an injured leg. But his ego was probably pretty banged up, too. Sadly, not all pitchers can be this smooth.
