The Stanley Cup Took A Tumble Today (Video)
It was a windy day in Newfoundland today. How windy? Windy enough to blow the Stanley Cup off a table and send it crashing to the ground.
As a former member of the Cup winning Boston Bruins, Michael Ryder had his day with Lord Stanley today, and following a parade through the streets of his hometown, Bonavista, Newfoundland, the newly acquired Dallas Stars forward held a send-off rally on top of a St. John’s hotel.
That probably wasn’t the best of ideas, as the 50 km/h winds were enough to knock the 35-pound Stanley Cup off balance. No word yet on whether the fall will land Lord Stanley on the I.R.
Here is a look at the fall.
