Here Are Two Great Catches From This Weekend’s Football Action (Videos)

Along with some “Labor Day classics” in the Canadian Football League, this weekend also marked the beginning of the NCAA football season.  That meant there were plenty of incredible plays taking place on the gridiron, including a highlight reel catch from each of the two leagues.

The first came during a CFL Labour Day classic between Hamilton and Montreal, as the Tiger-Cats’ Chris Williams was somehow able to make a circus catch on a deep pass from quarterback Kevin Glenn.  The catch set up a Hamilton touchdown, which put them up by a score of 27-13.  They didn’t look back from there, en route to the 44-21 victory.

As for the second catch, that came from Ohio State receiver Evan Spencer during the Buckeyes’ 42-0 romp over Akron.  With the game already wrapped up midway through the fourth quarter, Spencer kept things interesting with his incredible one-handed grab on a deep ball along the sideline.

Here is a look at both catches, beginning with Williams’ circus grab.

Hat Tip to reader Craig Johnson for the Spencer catch.  Congratulations on the cover 😉
