Stat Line Of The Night — 10/4/11 — Adrian Beltre
After losing Game One of their ALDS series against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Texas Rangers stormed back to win the following two games and were looking to close out the series at Tropicana Field yesterday afternoon. They would do just that, thanks in large part to the bat of third baseman Adrian Beltre.
The Rays would out-hit the Rangers, 7-6, but three of the Rangers six hits were solo homers, courtesy of Beltre. After hitting 32 home runs during the regular season, Beltre recorded his first three of the post-season and they would be the difference, as the Rangers held on for the 4-3 victory and the 3-1 series win.
The Rangers will now have plenty of time to rest their pitchers prior to the ALCS, and they have Beltre’s hot bat to thank. He earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, October 4, 2011.
