Rangers Fan Ejected After Throwing Wiffle Ball Onto The Field (Video)
With the Texas Rangers trailing the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 14-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning during Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday, a few fans at the Ballpark in Arlington were looking to help their team anyway they could. For two fans seated along the front row in left field, they just so happened to take their attempted rescue act too far, as they decided to try and distract Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday during a routine fly ball by throwing a wiffle ball in his direction.
Anyone who knows anything about a wiffle ball knows that they do not travel very far, even in at the Rangers’ Ballpark, where balls seem to travel further than usual. As a result, the ball fell well short of reaching Holliday and causing any sort of distraction, but that didn’t stop security from ejecting the two fans from the ballgame. Luckily for them, they didn’t miss much as the Cards would go on to record the 16-7 victory.
Here is a look at the incident.
