Lightning Mascot Mixes It Up With Bruins Fan (Video)
Oftentimes when we see a mascot fight a fan of the opposing team, the entire act is staged and intended for nothing more than to provide the fans in attendance with an extra bit of entertainment. Some may have figured that was what they were watching unfold during Tuesday night’s game between the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning, however, it appears as though there was nothing fake about the unfriendly encounter that occurred between a Bruins fan and the Lightning’s mascot, Thunderbug.
Taking part in what he thought was nothing more than a playful act with an opposing fan, Thunderbug sprayed the male in the face with silly string. But like most grown men, this guy didn’t appreciate having something sprayed in his eye, so he retaliated with a push to the back of Thunderbug.
As you may have already assumed, pushing the home team’s mascot will almost always get you ejected from the arena. However, I can’t help but think that if this guy was smart, he would have ask to be re-seated in the lower bowl, or threaten to sue the club due to partial blindness suffered from silly-string in his eye.
You can watch the entire incident unfold in the video below.
