Ryan Miller’s Stick Makes “Save Of The Year” (Video)
Last week we suggested that Mike Smith’s save on a Marian Gaborik penalty shot may turn out to be the best save from the 2011-12 NHL season…
Not so fast.
During last night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets, Ryan Miller’s desperate attempt to stop a puck that got by him was successful, as he reached back with his stick to make an incredible goal line save on Tanner Glass. Unfortunately, it was not enough as the Sabres lost the game by a score of 4-1, their fourth loss in a row.
After a change in ownership and several off-season acquisitions, the Sabres were supposed to be contenders in the East this season. Instead, they now find themselves sitting in 11th in the conference, nine points out of a playoff spot. Yes, it has certainly been a disappointing season for Buffalo, and it doesn’t get much more disappointing than losing a game when your goalie is making saves like this one.
