Stat Line Of The Night — 1/20/12 — Paul Pierce
Having won just one of their last seven games heading into yesterday, the Boston Celtics knew they had a great opportunity to break out of their slump against the last place Washington Wizards. They would take advantage of that opportunity, thanks in large part to the play of Paul Pierce.
With Rajon Rondo out of the line-up , Pierce knew he had to take his game up a notch. He did just that, converting on 10 of his 15 field-goal attempts and 12 of his 15 free-throw attempts for a 34-point performance. He would also add 10 assists, 8 rebounds and 3 steals during an all-around impressive performance that helped his team earn the 100-94 victory.
Pierce would finish just two rebounds shy of the triple-double, but he still earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, January 20, 2012.
