Timofey Mozgov Gets His Revenge On Blake Griffin (Video)
Early in the 2010-11 NBA season when Timofey Mozgov was still a member of the New York Knicks, the 7’1″ center out of Russia was victimized by the high-flying Blake Griffin. The image of Blake placing his hand on the back of Mozgov’s head as he treats him to a nasty facial has been placed on posters and replayed on highlight reels for the past year, but last night it was time for Mozgov to get his revenge.
That revenge didn’t come in the form of a facial of his own. Instead, Mozgov wanted to make sure he wasn’t victimized by Griffin once again when he gave the Clippers’ forward a forearm to the face during a third quarter dunk attempt.
In case you were wondering whether that would be enough to shake up Griffin, look no further than his air-ball on his ensuing free-throw attempt. Griffin would go on to record only two more points on the evening (he had 16 before the foul) and the Nuggets would outscore the Clippers 55-40 from that point on, en route to the 112-91 victory.
If the following foul by Mozgov didn’t completely change the game, it at least helped them slow down “the Blake show,” and you can expect the rest of the league to take notice.
