Stat Line Of The Night — 2/5/12 — Eli Manning
Eli Manning didn’t have his best statistical performance of the season during Super Bowl XLVI. In fact, he may have very well had his worst statistical performance of the post-season during last night’s title game, but it was still good enough to get the job done and help his New York Giants edge out the New England Patriots in the only statistic that matters: total points scored.
Manning would complete 30 of his 40 pass attempts for 296 yards and one touchdown. Five of those pass completions helped set up Ahmad Bradshaw’s rushing touchdown with under one minute to play, which put the Giants ahead by a score of 21-17. Fifty-seven seconds later Eli Manning was hoisting his second Lombardi Trophy. He would also be named the game’s MVP, and he earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, February 5, 2012.
