Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night — Alberts vs. Jackman — 2/11/12

alberts vs jackmanSitting only two points out of the playoffs entering the weekend, the Calgary Flames wanted to show everyone in the Western Conference that they are willing to fight, literally, in order to play meaningful hockey in April.  The Vancouver Canucks learned that first-hand on Saturday night when the Flames’ Tim Jackman dropped the gloves with their own Andrew Alberts.

Jackman would go on to win what turned out to be a very spirited bout between these two combatants.  The Flames would also go on to win the game, but unfortunately for them, the eighth-place Phoenix Coyotes also won their game on Saturday night.  That shouldn’t stop the Flames from continuing to fight to earn a playoff position, but for now, it is the fight between Jackman and Alberts that earns “The Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Saturday, February 11, 2012.
