Stat Line Of The Night — 3/1/12 — LeBron James
The Superstars of the NBA were out in full force last night, as the likes of Kevin Durant (38 points, 8 rebounds), Dwight Howard (33 points, 9 rebounds) and Dwyane Wade (33 points, 10 assists) all put forth impressive performances. However, no star was shinning brighter than LeBron James on this night.
With Chris Bosh out of the line-up due to the passing of his grandmother, LeBron James knew he would have to step up his game if the Heat were going to extend the eight-game winning streak that they carried into the All-Star break. He would do just that, as King James asserted himself as a dominant force in all facets of the game, recording 38 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. That all-around performance helped the Heat cruise to the convincing 107-93 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden.
At the moment, the Heat and LeBron James seem unstoppable. They will be visiting Utah tonight before traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers in a much-anticipated battle on Sunday. If they could end this road trip with their winning streak still intact, we could begin to ask ourselves if they can surpass the Houston Rockets’ 22-game winning streak from 2008 – the second-longest streak in NBA history after the Lakers’ 33 from 1971-72. For now, James earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, March 1, 2012.
