Stat Line Of The Night — 3/18/12 — Kenny Frease

kenny freaseAfter a big win over Notre Dame in their opening game of the NCAA Tournament, Xavier had a golden opportunity to make it to the Sweet 16, as they were matched up with No. 15 Lehigh in the second round following the Mountain Hawks’ shocking first round victory over Duke.  They would take advantage of that opportunity, thanks in large part to a career-game from their Senior center, Kenny Frease.

Lehigh had no answer for the big man inside, as Frease converted on 11 of his 13 field goal attempts for a career-high 25 points.  He would also add 12 rebounds and two blocked shots as Xavier ended Lehigh’s unlikely run with a 70-58 victory.

With the win, the Musketeers will now travel to Atlanta where they will take on No. 3 Baylor in what should be an interesting match-up.  Baylor has plenty of talent on their roster, but if Frease can once again assert his dominance in the pain, the Bears could have problems stopping Xavier.  Lehigh sure did, and as a result, the Musketeers’ center earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, March 18, 2012.
