Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night — Gudbranson vs. White — 3/27/12

white vs. gudbransonWhen the Florida Panthers drafted Erik Gudbranson with their third-overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, they knew that they were getting a tough, hard-nosed defenseman that would someday become a physical force at the NHL level.  Little did they know that it would take him only a couple of years before he was asserting himself as an imposing physical force by punching members of the opposition in the face at will.

Gudbranson was doing just that during last night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens, as the 20-year-old dropped the gloves with Ryan White and laid a beating on the face of the Habs’ forward before knocking him to the ground.  Fights like this will certainly help Gudbranson earn a reputation as one of the league’s tougher combatants, and it has also earned him a spot on the “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

Check it out.
