AHL’s Rockford IceHogs And Milwaukee Admirals Engage In Bench-Clearing Brawl (Video)
If you want to see a line-brawl, the NHL has proven on a few occasions this season that they are capable of providing just that. However, if it is a bench-clearing brawl that you are looking for, the NHL can’t help you out with that. But the AHL can!
Fans at the Bradley Center found that out first-hand on Sunday, as the Milwaukee Admirals and the Rockford IceHogs engaged in an all-out bench-clearing brawl that resulted in a total of 10 ejections.
The fracas began following a fight at center ice between the Admirals’ Michael Latta and the IceHogs’ Shawn Lalonde. Once the two combatants had finished settling their differences, there was a media timeout that was scheduled to take place. It was during that break in the action that Rockford’s Rob Flick skated down to the Admirals’ goal to exchange greetings with goaltender Jeremy Smith. Seconds later, the fist started flying while the benches began to clear.
When order was finally restored after a couple of minutes of carnage, the referees ordered both teams to their respective dressing rooms for an 18-minute intermission (there was still nine minutes left in the second period). When the game finally resumed, it was Rockford who would emerge victorious, via a 2-1 shootout win.
Here is a look at how it all unfolded.
